What we believe:

We believe and maintain the following:

1. The full inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, their authority, sufficiency, and inerrancy, as not only containing but being in themselves the Word of God; the reliability of the New Testament in its testimony to the character and authority of the Old Testament; and the need of the teaching of the Holy Spirit for the true and spiritual understanding of the whole. 2 Timothy 3: 16, Matthew 5: 17 & 19, John 16: 13.

2. The reality of one true and eternal God who has always existed as three distinct Persons (Hypostasis); the Father (who is God), the Son, Jesus Christ (who is God), and the Holy Spirit (who is God) and yet not three Gods, but one God. These three persons in the Trinity are distinguished, but not divided; three Substances but one Essence (Ousia). There has always existed a divine co-equality of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit and each of these three are fully and eternally God. This God alone is sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption.

3. In the sight of God, the utter depravity of human nature in consequence of the Fall; and the necessity for regeneration. Romans 5: 12, Jeremiah 17: 9, John 3: 3.

4. The true and proper Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth, His real and perfect Manhood, the authority of His teaching, and the infallibility of His utterances, His work of atonement for sinners of mankind by His vicarious sufferings and death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension into heaven and His present priestly intercession for His people at the right hand of the Father. 1 Timothy 3: 16, John 1: 1, Luke 1: 27, Luke 1: 31-35, Acts 2: 22, 2 Corinthians 5: 21, Matthew 24: 25, Luke 24: 39, Mark 16: 19.

5. The justification of the sinner solely by faith, through the shed blood and imputed righteousness of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Romans 1: 17, 1 John 1: 7.

6. The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, conversion and sanctification; also in service and worship. John 3: 3-5, Ephesians 2: 8-10.

7. The universal Church, the body of which Christ is the Head, embracing all the redeemed called by God through the Gospel, born of the Spirit, and justified by faith. The local church, comprising such believers as the visible expression of the universal church; and fellowship between such churches manifesting in the unity of the body of Christ. The leadership of each local church is committed by God to men, called of God, Biblically qualified and filled with the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 12: 22-23, Romans 16: 4-5, Acts 15: 2-3, Acts 15: 30-31, 1 Timothy 2 & 3, Titus 2.

8. The ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper as being instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ. But Baptism conveys no regenerating grace. Neither is the Lord's Supper a sacrifice for sin, nor is there any change in the substance of the bread and wine. Luke 22: 19, Matthew 3: 15.

9. The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory. Acts 1: 11, Revelation 1: 7.

10. The resurrection of the body, and the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, with the eternal blessedness of the righteous and the eternal punishment of the wicked. Luke 14: 14, Matthew 25: 31-33, Matthew 25: 46.

11. That the family is the central unit of society and is made up of a man and a woman united by God in marriage and children as God chooses to give them. Accordingly, marriage is only between a man and a woman. Genesis 2: 21-25, Matthew 19: 1-9, Mark 10: 1-12, 1 Corinthians 7, Ephesians 5: 21-33.
